How to send a roofing estimate from your phone

Write the estimate, attach roof photos, and get it signed before you pull out of the driveway. Here's the 2-minute version.

Old way: drive to the job, measure the roof, drive back to the office, type up the estimate in QuickBooks, email it as a PDF, wait a week for a response. Two of those days are yours; five are them comparing you to the next two roofers who got it to them faster.

New way: phone, 2 minutes, signed before you leave. Here's how.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open the app and start a new estimate

    From the dashboard, tap New Estimate. Pick the client (or add them in 10 seconds — name, email, address). The address is the one piece you need; everything else can be filled in later.

    Add line items from a saved template

Tap the line-item picker and pull from your saved roofing template — tear-off, underlayment, shingles, drip edge, ridge vent, labor, cleanup. Adjust quantities to match what you measured. The line-item editor is built for thumbs, not styluses.

    Snap roof photos and attach them

    Tap Add Photos and use the camera. Get the damage shots, the existing flashing, the gutter line. Photos appear on the estimate the homeowner sees and on the PDF — adjusters love this.

  • 4

    Set a deposit

    Toggle Deposit on. Set 25% as the default (or whatever your state caps you at — California is 10%, New York is 33%). The homeowner pays the deposit at the moment they approve.

  • 5

    Send and ask for the signature

    Tap Send. The homeowner gets a text and email with a link to your branded portal. They view, sign, and pay — usually before you pull out of the driveway.
